“The Other Saints”
This Sunday we will observe All Saints Day—a time to remember those who have gone before us in faith and to gather together in our shared grief. Yet as those who live in Christ, we hold fast to the promise that death does not have the final word. As we reflect on what it means to be a “saint” and to live in Christ, we’ll discover again that God’s blessings and promises often appear in surprising places.

Hoping for a peaceful future is a strong theme throughout the Scriptures and is closely tied to the Kingdom of God. That kingdom is seen in the Bible as one where God’s creation lives at peace with itself and in communion with God. The prophet Micah’s vision assures us that working for that peace will eventually bear fruit. Please join us this Remembrance Sunday as we continue to remember the dead from war in the hope that lasting peace will one day come to our world.

Our Taizé Service offers the chance to gather quietly in meditative common prayer using the beautiful and simple songs of the Taizé community in France. Serene and uplifting, the music of Taizé helps us to deepen our sense of prayer and of God’s presence. On Wednesday, November 19th, at 6:00 p.m., all are welcome to this quiet and simple service.

It’s that time of year again, as we prepare for one of the A&P’s most beloved events – The Christmas Pageant, which takes place on Sunday, December 7th at 4:30 p.m.
Casting and preparations are well underway and we are seeking out volunteers to help with our preparations leading up to the Pageant, as well as over Pageant weekend, including the production and Family Christmas Dinner directly after the Pageant. If you know of any children or young people who would like to take part in the Pageant, either as part of the cast or working behind the scenes, or if you would like to volunteer in any capacity leading up to and over Pageant weekend, please contact Sharon at 514-755-0313 or email churchschool@standrewstpaul.com
