I Medici di McGill presents “Water Symphony” on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

Set sail to a warmer climate with I Medici di McGill as we celebrate the sounds of the sea and the healing power of music with our Water Symphony live event. We are thrilled to welcome Maestra Lori Antounian on her maiden voyage as Musical Director and Conductor. The concert features the beautiful voice of the accomplished mezzo-soprano Chelsea Pringle-Duchemin making waves as soloist in Elgar’s song cycle Sea Pictures.

The Guild is once again pleased to be putting on this year’s Pancake Supper Celebration of Shrove Tuesday. Mark your calendars – March 4th is the day! Round up the kids and come to Kildonan Hall for a family night of fun, food and fellowship. The menu is pancakes, of course, with all the trimmings: sausages, bean casseroles, fresh fruit, and even a Mardi Gras cake. Supper is available from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Reserve your place by emailing Edna Ralston at ednaralston@bell.net or by calling 514-288-9588. The deadline to reserve is Friday, February 28th. The price is $10 per person or $30 for a family of 4 (four) payable at the door. Join us for our Ash Wednesday Service on March 5th at 5:30 p.m. Ashes will be distributed.

Ash Wednesday Service – Pop-Up Choir: Singers of all abilities needed! Do you enjoy singing? We are again creating a “pop-up” choir to accompanying our Ash Wednesday Service which will be held on March 5 at 5:30 p.m. No need to sign up. Just come to the sanctuary at 4:45 p.m. on March 5. We will practice the music for half an hour before the service which will start at 5:30 p.m. If you would like more details or to receive the music in advance, please contact Rev. On the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., those of us who are practicing learning French get together for dinner and practice (This is a change from our former routine of meeting every other Tuesday).

We really need help with this ministry. It has grown beyond what we originally envisioned. We need someone to coordinate the event overseeing the set-up, meal serving, and clean-up. We also need a teacher – or at least someone to help us develop lesson plans. If you feel called to help with either of these needs, please contact Rev. Susan at sbrasier@standrewstpaul.com.

In the midst of our hectic lives, many people long for the peace and refreshment that only God can give. Our Taizé Service offers the chance to gather quietly in meditative common prayer using the beautiful and simple songs of the Taizé community in France. Serene and uplifting, the music of Taizé helps us to deepen our sense of prayer and of God’s presence. On Wednesday, March 19th, at 6:00 p.m., all are welcome to this quiet and simple service.
