Parades and Promises – Palm Sunday invites us to take the first steps on the emotional roller coaster of the week the church calls holy, moving towards the day God calls Good, before waiting and watching for the hope of resurrection on Easter. This Sunday offers vivid imagery of Jesus set amongst the boisterous crowd shouting hosanna and welcoming this famous rabbi into Jerusalem with whispers of Messiah on their tongues. What does it mean to join the crowds and shout praise to God made known to us in Jesus Christ? How is Jesus moving in our midst in today’s chaotic and challenging world?
