The Royal Canadian College of Organists presents an Interstellar Concert on Tuesday, October 8th at 7:30 p.m. at The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul.

ROGER SAYER, the organist who worked with HANS ZIMMER to create the soundtrack for the blockbuster film INTERSTELLAR, is marking the 10th anniversary of the film with a worldwide tour culminating in five concerts across Canada. Since the release of the movie 10 years ago, the music from INTERSTELLAR has developed a huge following, introducing the organ to many audiences for the first time.
SAYER will share his experience of working with composer ZIMMER and director CHRISTOPHER NOLAN, two living geniuses of cinema, before playing his own transcription of all the epic hits from the soundtrack on the organ, the instrument that ZIMMER specifically used to express the wonder and mystery of space. “He [Sayer] is without doubt an extraordinary artist whose humanity shines in the impeccable artistry that flows from his hands” (ZIMMER).
SAYER has presented INTERSTELLAR 10 to sold-out audiences in Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe.
Program includes:
Opening theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey ( Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss)
selections from The Planets by Gustav Holst
A special screening of a brief documentary about the creation of the Interstellar soundtrack followed by Q&A with Roger Sayer
Interstellar soundtrack hits!

In the midst of our hectic lives, many people long for the peace and refreshment that only God can give. Our Taizé Service offers the chance to gather quietly in meditative common prayer using the beautiful and simple songs of the Taizé community in France. Serene and uplifting, the music of Taizé helps us to deepen our sense of prayer and of God’s presence. On Wednesday, October 16th, at 6:00 p.m., all are welcome to this quiet and simple service.
