Transfiguration Sunday brings us to the end of Epiphany and the beginning of Lent. In Matthew’s Gospel we learn that after Jesus is transfigured before Peter, James and John, he tells them “do not be afraid” even though he knows he will be crucified in a few weeks’ time. These words have comforted generations of believers and speak directly to us today.
Sermon by The Rev. Dr. Glenn Chestnutt, “Highs and Lows”
First Lesson: Exodus 24:12-18
Second Lesson: Matthew 17:1-9

The Guild is once again pleased to be putting on the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper Celebration.
Mark your calendars – February 17th is the day! Round up the kids and come to Kildonan Hall for a family night of fun, food and fellowship. The menu is of course, pancakes, with all the trimmings: sausages, bean casseroles, fresh fruit, and even a Mardi Gras cake.
Supper is available from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Reserve your place by emailing Edna Ralston at ednaralston@bell.net or by calling 514-288-9588. The deadline to reserve is Friday, February 13th. The price is $10 per person or $30 for a family payable in cash at the door.
And as a final bonus, if you are feeling energetic, you are invited to join in a dance with the Scottish Country Dancers! Hope you can take part in this fun family event! Keep your eyes open for reminders in the Sunday bulletin and email newsletters.

We are particularly excited to announce that again this year, our church is hosting the event and we will be welcoming the St. James Drop-in Center staff and all the Coldest Night Walkers in Kildonan Hall, as we gather to set off on the walk and will be serving hot soup and chili on the walkers return.
