Event Details
The National Youth Choir of Canada is a project of Choral Canada and is one of Canada’s finest youth choirs. It is a one-of-a-kind professional development opportunity for some of Canada’s best emerging choral singers. Truly national in scope, the prestigious choir is made up of singers between the ages of 19 and 26 who are auditioned from across the country every two years.
The 2024 Artistic Team includes Guest Conductor Roseline Blain, Apprentice Conductor Kitbielle Pasagui, and Collaborative Pianist Pierre McLean. The general theme of the program is “Heritage”, in the sense of transmission and legacy. Heritage means “passing on” from one generation to another, from teacher to student, from one environment to another, from one culture to another.

This Sunday, please join us as we will be honouring Earth Day by remembering that God created humanity to care for the planet (Genesis 2:15). As part of the service, the Green Church Committee will be distributing small pots with flower seeds immediately after the service to be used as a form of a prayer practice and a way of living into our responsibilities.

What an excellent Lunch & Learn we had yesterday. We are so thankful to have welcomed James Hughes, President and CEO of the Old Brewery Mission, to present his lecture on Modern Homelessness Services. Mr. Hughes' lecture focused on how the Old Brewery Mission and its partners are reshaping themselves to take on an increase in both the number and the complexity of homeless people in our city. Big thanks to everyone who helped this event run smoothly! And thank you to Charles Lavergne for the wonderful photographs. ... See MoreSee Less

Tam Lan Truong of Tam Photography captured some stunning photos of our Good Friday evening choral service this year! We would love to thank everyone who was involved in making this service so wonderful - we especially thank Léa, our conductor, for putting the entire Messiah together absolutely masterfully; Ensemble Caprice, for their excellent musicianship and flawless execution, and Glenn, our lead minister, for tying the evening together with beautiful and moving prayers. Lastly, thank you to Stratsi for the fantastic recording! If you would like to view a recording of the service, you can follow the link through our YouTube channel here: buff.ly/3PVE60Q ...
